Walter Chalmers Smith

Born: De­cem­ber 5, 1824, Aber­deen, Scot­land.

Died: Sep­tem­ber 19, 1908, Kin­buck, Dun­blane, Perth­shire, Scot­land.

Smith at­tend­ed Mar­is­chal Coll­ege at the Un­i­ver­si­ty of Ab­er­deen and New Coll­ege, Ed­in­burgh. He was or­dained pas­tor of the Chad­well Street Scot­tish Church, Pen­ton­ville, Isling­ton, Lon­don, on Christ­mas Day, 1850. He lat­er served at the Free High Church, Ed­in­burgh; the Rox­burgh Free Church, Dein­burgh; the Or­well Free Church, Mil­nath­ort, Kin­rosss­hire; and the Free Tron Church, Glas­gow. The Free Church of Scot­land elect­ed him its mod­er­at­or dur­ing its Ju­bi­lee year in 1893. His works in­clude:
